School of Visual Arts (SVA) presents “Social,” an exhibition of collage, photography, painting and sculpture by students and alumni that examines current global conditions and cultural legacies. The exhibition is curated by Richard Brooks, assistant director of student galleries.

Elektra KB’s politically charged paper collages are reminiscent of John Heartfield’s anti-Nazi photomontages. Combining her own photos with popular magazine imagery onto sheets from a vintage typewriting manual, the artist contrasts the brutality of war with seeming domestic bliss.
