\n Current apexart resident British artist KELLY WARMAN\, and MATTHEW LYONS\, \n curator for the Kitchen\, di scuss the translation of the\n written word into performative\ , mediated and cinematic space\, focusing\n on contemporary li terature and film that has evolved from the novel\n form. In a ddition\, Kelly Warman will read excerpts from her residency\n diary.

 \n Kelly Warman is a British born ar tist based\n in Rotterdam\, The Netherlands. Before completi ng her MFA at the\n Piet Zwart Institute\, Rotterdam\, Kelly graduated with a BA (Hons)\n from Dartington College of Art s\, Dartington and a diploma from\n Chelsea College of Art\, London\, UK. Kelly's formation is\n related to a larger und erstanding of a culture that evolves around\n self-performan ce\, she is particularly interested in the translation\n of the interior monologue into the cinematic space. Warman's\n work investigates the idea of a commodity-person through staged\n performance and cinematic video works. Kelly Warman was recommended\n by Anselm Franke\, curator and writer\, Artistic Director o f Extra\n City Center for Contemporary Art in Antwerp\, Belgiu m.\n

Matthew\n Lyons is Curator at The\n Kitchen\, NY\, where he has organize d\n solo exhibitions by Sara Greenberger Rafferty\, Glen Fogel \, Vlatka\n Horvat\, Jenny Perlin\, and Mika Tajima as well as performances by\n Final Fantasy\, Jutta Koether\, Aki Onda\, and robbinschilds\, among\n others. His writing has appeared i n ASPECT\, Flash Art\, Movement\n Research Performance Journal \, and he was a contributing author\n for WORK THE ROOM: A Han dbook of Performance Strategies.
