Bill Burns and the Dogs and Boats and Airplanes Choir Record Launch October 4 Printed Matter 6 – 8 PM

 The D ogs and Boats and Airplanes Choir is an exquisite 33RPM Vinyl LP centre piecing the choristers of Howard Park and Lord Lansdowne Junior Public Scho ols in Toronto\, Canada.

\n

The repertory was developed by thirty-two 8 to 12 year old choristers in 2011 in collaboration with Bill Burns.

\n

The record features the voices of children making the sounds of dogs\, b oats and airplanes. No words are used. Side A is conceived as incidental mu sic for Mr. Burns’ new book\, Dogs and Boats and Airplanes Told in the F orm of Ivan the Terrible. Side B features the children voicing the soun ds of dogs lapping milk\, a tug passing in the fog\, the dog kennel\, the c ockpit\, the creaking ship and more.  Biography

\n

Bill Burns’ work about civil society an d nature has been shown  projects at the Fondacion Cristina Enea\, San Seba stian\, Spain\, the KW Institute for Contemporary Art\, Berlin\, the ICA\, London and the Museum of Modern Art\, New York. His projects have been part of biennial exhibitions at Havana\, Cuba\, Ushuaia\, Argentina and Quebec City\, Quebec.

\n

 His books include Bird Radio\, (KW Institute for Contemporary Art\, Berlin\, Germany\, 2007)\; The Guide to the Flor a and Fauna Information Station\, (Institute of Contemporary Arts\, Lon don\, England\, 2008)\; and Dogs and Boats and Airplanes told in the form of Ivan the Terrible\, (Space Poetry\, Copenhagen\, Denmark\, 2011). His editions are included in collections at the MoMA\, New York\, Ta te Britain\, London\, Getty Center\, Los Angeles and Cabinet de estampes\, Geneva.
