Artist Bio:


J. Shelley Harrison-
Harrison’s background includes years of heavy involvement in the arts in the Bloomington area. Known for her work as both an extremely innovative curator, promoter, and event coordinator, as well as a talent in her personal art endeavors. Harrison’s work in the fields of printmaking, conceptual art, and sculpture has been shown in exhibition on both the local and national level. She received her BFA from Indiana University. Harrison is a founding collective member of Bloomington’s art space known as "Hospital.  During the summer of ’07 Harrison curated the monthly art exhibited at the Uptown Cafe.  She also performs in a national touring musical group "the Horns of Happiness".


Jeremy Kennedy-
Kennedy is a decade long resident of Bloomington and artist specializing in painting, drawing, sound installation, and conceptual art. He has involved himself in the community, notably as a promoter and organizer of events. Along with this, he has developed a career remodeling and restoring homes in the Bloomington area.
Kennedy has seen great success exhibiting artwork locally and abroad. Several pieces have appeared as cover art for such publications as Indiana Review and Drawings, and also featured at the sixth annual Forecastle Festival. His involvement in the local music scene has been steady over the years and cannot be overlooked. Through playing in national touring musical groups "Rapider than Horsepower", "Puppy vs. Dyslexia" and many more, he has in great measure spread the word about the quality of art and lifestyle here, and helped enrich the scope of local entertainment.


(Knee Shy): the union-
(Knee Shy) is the chosen moniker for the collaborative art of these above mentioned Bloomington area artist: J. Shelley Harrison and Jeremy Kennedy. Work as a duo began in early 2006. the title, (Knee Shy), is actually created from a partial anagram of the two artists names. Kennedy and Harrison choose to work together after examining the similarities in their own personal working techniques, activities, and especially, their shared concepts and ideas.
The goal of this collaboration has always been to actively combine brainstorms, and use whatever means, or medium, necessary to actualize them. (Knee Shy) has continued to thrive through consistent work on upcoming and ongoing projects.
