Artist Statement

My work, founded in color and form, utilizes a moment of noticing-a breath of presence-an awareness of absence-and then it moves, switches, displaces for another way of seeing. The work charts an instant, a moment of sensation, then disappears, only to return again.

My current work is a look at open and closed geometric shapes as static and moving presences. I am interested in how the density or transparency of pigment, placement of color values, hues and chromatic scales advance a form, push back a shape, bend a plane and meld an edge.
