The Museum of American Illustration at the Society of Illustrators has a permanent collection containing hundreds of works of art made by many of the greatest names in American painting and illustration, and is surely worth visiting when uptown on the east side. Opening on September 1, is an exhibition titled Spectrum: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art, featuring top-notch fantasy artists from around the world.
