12249 Venice Blvd, West Los Angeles
This is a lively little joint, perched comfortably on the border between neighborhood dive bar and hipster nightclub. The club has a medical theme and they take it pretty far, with a bold palette of black and red and waitresses in sexy nurse outfits behind a bar offering "prescriptions." Fortunately the theme stops short of turning the place into some weird cross between Hooters and an emergency room. The young(ish) crowds are friendly enough; this is a place to hang out and see up-and-coming bands seven nights a week (punk, raggae, you name it,) and not a place for club hoppers to see and be seen.
