Opening of Schöne Neue Welt

Last week we took off from Paris, and landed in Berlin to check out the scene there. Despite the absolutely miserable weather we managed to take in some great art and witnessed the vibrant art culture that Berlin hosts: On Thursday we visited Bongout Gallery's (say bon goût) opening for the Kottie Paloma and Laurent Impeduglia show: Kottie Paloma's a pal from San Francisco, who's made the move to Berlin. His hand-made, one of a kind books featuring down-and-out heroes, talking beer cans and cigarettes, bizarre encounters and subcultural references were endlessly entertaining, accompanied with audio interpretations: Laurent Impeduglia explaining to Kottie his manic, wacky paintings and their Latin subtitles: Despite the rain and general shite weather, the opening was a blast. Definitely check out the show, and while you're there spend some time perusing the magazines in front. Bongout is also a design studio, and they publish some excellent work.
