Denise Treizman (b. 1979, Santiago, Chile)
I make interdisciplinary work that re-purposes found and ready-made objects; materials I find on my surroundings initiate work that is in constant flux. Objects are playfully transformed and combined resisting conversion into a specific medium or finalization. This potentially endless process investigates informality, improvisation and new forms of abstract assemblage. Using society’s excess I emphasize an overly consumerist culture where the disposable condition of things is given. Working on the street and the studio the difference between art and life becomes slight.
