Year of the Salamander Open Call Submissions

Title: Year of the Salamander!
Description:We are seeking original artworks about salamanders, including, but not limited to works that address the role of salamanders in the environment, including aesthetic, cultural, economic, educational and scientific aspects of their biology and natural history. Works may also explore datasets about salamander populations, species relationships or biogeography. This exhibition is intended to enhance public understanding of salamanders, their diversity, and the importance of science and conservation.
Eligibility:We consider science-art to be any work that combines art and the natural sciences through content, purpose, craft or materials. Thus, submissions may be in any medium. Group submissions by interdisciplinary collaborators and/or research groups are encouraged. As part of our mission is to encourage creative exploration by scientists, we encourage scientists to contact us for ideas if you would like to participate, but are not sure how.
The submission deadline is April 13, 2014.
The exhibition will run from May 24th to June 22, 2014.
