Round 7 Jurors

 

 

Maria Jenson is the founding director of ArtPadSF, which launched in May 2011 at the Phoenix Hotel, San Francisco. She is a member of Artadia, a prestigious art organization and serves on the Executive Committee of ArtTable and is on the board at KALA.  She is active in the community working with groups to provide opportunities for youth to explore their creativity. Previously Maria was the founder and director of Salon Oblique, a contemporary exhibition space and art consultancy established in Venice, CA.  In 2010, she also served as the director of an independent emerging art fair in Miami during Art Basel Miami Beach. She has mounted numerous exhibitions debuting a wide diversity of artists from California and beyond.

 

 

Bea de Souza was born in Cologne and lives and works in London. After an early internship at Artangel, De Souza became the founder/ director of the Agency Gallery in London, a commercial gallery, which is internationally renowned for showcasing emerging and mid career artists ( a/o Douglas Gordon, Zineb Sedira, Ken Lum, Zoe Leonard ) with a special focus on conceptual art and inter-media-experimentation from the 90’s onwards.

The Agency gallery won the Art Basel Statements Award for Best Young Gallery in 2001. In 2012 Bea de Souza helped establish the APT Curatorial Fellowship as well as embarking on an ongoing series of collaborations with Milton Keynes Gallery on Sound Art events in both gallery spaces and pop-up locations. This year Bea de Souza was awarded a curatorial bursary to present the work of the seminal Korean artist Theresa Hak Kyung Cha in London. The exhibition will take place from 9/24 – 10/26/2013 in co-operation with the Korean Cultural Centre and the ICA London as well as the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, Berkeley, CA and with support from the Korea Foundation Gallery of the British Museum.

 

 

 

Daniela Kostova is an interdisciplinary artist who works with photography, video, performance and installation. She holds an M.F.A. from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, NY and the National Art Academy in Sofia. Her work has been shown at KK Projects, New Orleans, LA, Institute for Contemporary Art, Sofia, Bulgaria, Kunsthalle Wien, Austria, Antakya Biennale, Turkey, Centre d’art Contemporain, Geneva, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Torino and Kunsthalle Fridericianum, Kassel, among the others.

Daniela curated the BioArt Initiative--art & science project of the Arts Department and the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies at RPI. In 2011 together with Stanislava Georgieva she started Bulgariana Artists in America (BAA), a growing organization in the territory of the U.S. Daniela currently lives in NYC and works as Exhibition Director of BAA and Director of Curatorial Projects at Radiator Gallery. She is also a board member of CEC Artslink.
