Evan Lavine (b. Long Island, NY)

My photography takes a closer look at everyday instances that sometimes go by without notice. With my camera I am able to slow down and capture a single moment, deconstruct it from contextual references and then retell an interestingly layered story with one frame.  These stories are told through the medium of  abstraction, defocusing the lens and most recently – long exposures in both digital and film, including pinhole works.
