...feeling the winds of change

I always tend to over do it in the Summer. From getting too much sun to attending too many parties and events, I just get exhausted, but still want to create art. I have had to scale back on my production just to have time to do some laundry! So I think for this season I want to forget about trying to sell, sell, sell and instead build relationships. So I am proposing art TRADES! I am in the middle of one of the best art trades of my life with Anguiano Art, out of Long Beach, CA. The trade began because one of our mutual friends, Jami, told Anguiano Art to check out my Steampunk Journals. We dicussed our trade and settled on 2 original prints for one of my journals. It was interesting, because we both customized our art for each other. He created a beautiful mermaid and a piece dedicated to Maurice Sendak in water color and pen. I created a journal to his specs of steampunk, ships, and meaningful art scattered throughout the journal.

Through this trade I feel like I have gained a new friend. We have dicussed some of our values and what makes our world go round. I love getting to know other artists and what inspires them. If you connect with another artist and collaborate on a piece, wait for sparks to fly. The final piece of art is like a child, the perfect blend of two souls.
