Woodger's is the masterful work of a painter well-versed in the traditions of Claude Lorraine and Turner.
His PhD explored influences of Japanese ink painting on European 'Grand Style' masters, and his own work reflects some of these aspects.
He has a particular knack for atmospheric sense of place - for example the Australian landscapes are bathed in a completely different light than the Japanese, Italian, New York, and others.
Furthermore, he has a flair for whimsical details, which become apparent upon close inspection.
This is a unique view of the world - highly recommended!
