"A Joy For Ever" Paintings by Jaime Arredondo

Behold; you will be captured by the power of its true nature. There is beauty in these flowers but this is not mere beauty. It is one that comes from inside them, for the eyes (the windows of the soul) are in every fold of the petals, in every stamen and around every delicate contour touched carefully by the light.

There is here a dualistic representation, the one that conforms to the standards of natural beauty (always appreciated) and one that is not easily understood, an inner power that comes to the surface of the canvas and into the viewer’s realm. We find in these flowers something that we recognize, something of us, something human.

Arredondo’s flowers are always beautiful but they are never passive. Joy, passion and other emotions posses them.

His flowers live.                     Denis Arguedas, Director
