Imagine Art ?

It's exciting to think only a short 16 years ago I was not even a glimce in the eye of the ART world. Through some great friends, family professors and supports for me I took a chance to go back to school / University after 18 years of work. To continue working and going to art school part time was a magic moment in my life. There was clearity, something more in life to grasp on too. At 40 years plus, I found  somthing I could  choose, a road to freedom, a get away from the trap of one's hum drum, every day lie of happiness. To be able to let my mind go free, to create, to stumble along the road of the unknown world of Art.

I found myself in a classroom of young inexperinced in life, but yet creative students who when first looked upon my face, thought I was thier teacher. With the first question to me I was asked by a young lady," Are you our Proffessor? I looked with some difficulty at her and expressed with an unfortunate diclaim. This interesting dialouge was because of my age, of all things to happen in my first class, That was my eye opener, to be associated to art though age wasn't something I thought of. This was strange to me.

For me all these students had more experience in this creative world than I could ever dream of having. But, you know having some life experiences in my world prepared me to understand that I really did have a step above these brilliant minds of artistry. As I started to create art, research, study, examine  my skills, techniques and actually start to converse with the knowledge of the young. I was drawn into the depths of thier art world in so many ways. With every day in this new enviornment, I was now becoming satisfied with my understanding of art, history, my own creative process and where I stand in this multitude of great artists, dead or alive.

So, I look for your understanding, your comments, your views. Examine my art with an open mind, yet use positive critique. We all must learn, but I ask for your insight, your knowledge and your experence in this world of art. Go to my website and enjoy my work at; http://www.imagineartbyclydedfinlay.com.
