Late at the Tate
by Nicholas James

First Friday of each month, 18.00-22.00
Last entry to exhibitions 21.00

I once went to an evening view at Tate Britain of Francis Bacon and found a party going on: the Duveen Hall was absolutely packed with crowds enjoying Dalí films. Following the sound of live jazz bands, I then discovered professional croupiers dealing poker and blackjack at card tables arranged in the 18th century rooms! This was ‘Late at Tate Britain’, which happens  on the first Friday of each month, 18.00-22.00 with last entry to exhibitions at 21.00. There are drinks, music, performances and the current exhibition. A great way to enjoy art! To make a reservation for the Tate restaurant  call 020 7887 8825.
