HOLLYWOOD FOREVER CEMETARY / CINESPIA
600 Santa Monica Boulevard

One of the best Saturday (or Sunday) nights in Los Angeles can be found at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery where Cinespia projects classic films onto a blank stretch of white wall. The films start around 9:00 p.m. but the gates open at 7:30 p.m. and you can bring a picnic and listen to the DJ pre-show. A highlight of the season will be Billy Wilder’s Ace in the Hole which stars an unrelenting Kirk Douglas in the role of Chuck Tatum, a newspaper reporter who will go to any length to get the story he is after. The film is Wilder’s follow up to Sunset Boulevard yet it pries much deeper into the cracks of American society.
