![]() Huntington Gardens The Huntington Botanical Garden (website) 1151 Oxford Road, San Marino, CA 91108 If you have never been to the Huntington Botanical Gardens, now, is the perfect time to go. The roses are blooming and the new Chinese Garden has just been opened. The gardens cover nearly 120 acres and contain approximately 15,000 different kinds of plants. The succulent and desert garden that has been cultivated at Huntington for nearly 100 years is the largest garden of it's kind in the world. Many of the succulents are at their most magnificent in late April / early May but if you hold out until Labor day you can attend the Huntington's annual Succulent Symposium where they will have lectures on conservation, biology, taxonomy, and collection management. - Nancy Lupo (Image: Courtesy of The Huntington) Posted by Nancy Lupo on 5/03 |
