As part of the Allan Kaprow retrospective currently on view at the Geffen MOCA, teams of volunteers and students will reconstruct Kaprow's Fluids-an enclosed architecture of ice blocks meant to dramatize the transitory nature of urban space-at LACMA, MOCA, and Memorial Park in Pasadena. The result promises to be a dynamic, communal form of art-making that simultaneously calls attention to this city's current fascination with temporary structures and the cultures that form around them.
