An exhibition of new large-scale paintings by Su-en Wong, on view at Kevin Bruk Gallery, explores the theme of collections, whether pandas, books or dildoes, rendered in the artist's flat, technically precise manner. Su-en Wong was born in Singapore in 1973. She currently lives and works in New York City. She received a BA, Magna cum Laude, from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, and an MA from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. In 1997 she received her MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. Since then she has had numerous solo and group exhibitions across the United States, and is the recipient of several fellowships, residencies and grants including two Artist Grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts and an Artist Grant from the Joan Mitchell Foundation in New York, New York. She has also held a number of academic and visiting artist positions with various institutions including Harvard University and the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. Her work is included in such public institutions as The Denver Art Museum in Denver, Colorado, The Portland Art Museum in Portland, Oregon, and the Philips de Pury & Luxembourg in New York, New York.
