First, we would like to thank Katelijne de Backer and her amazing team (you know who you are) at Aqua Art Miami for pulling off another successful fair. Our most ambitious exhibition to date included 40+ works from six artists without whom we wouldn't be here. A very special *thanks* to our exhibitors this year: Theresa Ganz, Tina Tahir, Rach... Last night I attended the opening of the incredibly lovely exhibition, Without/Color. At Figureworks in Williamsburg, this show currently features three artists (there will be a second iteration of the show with an additional three artists). The first room features evocative pencil drawings of female figures by Joanne Scott. The second room features haunting watercolors by Meridith McNeal. Both rooms are guarded over by intricate and powerful terra-cotta ravens by Alexander Ney. There is a heavy softn... [more]

Featured: Emer O'Brien Contemporary Anmesia Echoes of remoteness and the surreal beauty of urban decay resonate when looking at the photographs of Emer O’Brien. Fascinated by the subtle antagonisms of her narrative that mingles the aesthetics of reduction and purity with allusions to a memento mori of a world gone lost, we’ll trace the artists ideas along her recent series „Contemporary Amnesia“. Born in Dublin and now based in London Emer O’Brien applies various media... [more]
