Boycott or Action? Bansky in Gaza
2/27/15 Posted 2/27/15

Shot simply and in his typical parodic style, Banksy's latest project to go viral is a short video that sees the anonymous street artist and activist enter the Gaza Strip. It is the first work the British artist has completed in the Palestinian territory, but in 2005 nine pieces of his art appeared on Israel's West Bank barrier. The two minute video is titled "Make this the year YOU discover a new destination"—a satirical reimagining of an aspirational travel ad. It ends with... [more]

Zakkir Hussain at GALLERYSKE - Bangalore > India
January 17th - February 27th
Posted 1/21/15

Zakir Hussain’s latest works at Gallery SKE in Bangalore is a wonderful presentation of works to understand that originality can only be claimed as an unclaimed, seen as the other in the final omnipresent grand narrative of itself. The claim to originality that his works make in the beginning is by having a title ‘no title’. This is very interesting as the self proclamation of having no title negates the presence of the trace of the past. If there is any coincide... [more]

Parra, the Dutch dude who draws weird psycho-sexual creatures and provides creative input for a brand hipsters would murder for, has a new show opening at Jonathan LeVine New York City tomorrow night. His last show at the gallery was in 2013. The images released for preview show the artist moving forward with his strident Post-Pop graphics on canvas, always repeated in his distinctive black-red-blue-white palette. In many ways, Parra is the perfect Post-Pop figure, putting out commercial paintings for the the former underground whose... [more]

The answer will be revealed on our social media on Monday: Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram. Discarded every day objects a... [more]

His identity had apparently been confirmed by his PR, Jo Brooks. The arrest of the ubiquitously famous graffiti artist—who has remained anonymous for his entire career—was attribu... [more]

The exhibition is good, and congrats to the artist. A good friend of mine told me a rather disturbing story recently. He had been working with scott for years, and scott has helped him a great deal. Recently scott has not been able to sell as much art to pay his bills and has resorted to throwing events to sustain his gallery. Scott openly admits his failure, in his bathroom there is a painting that says 'BLACKBALL' which he says he got an employee to make in order to remind him how his ex-wife ha... [more]
