SERGEY KIREEV. CAUGHT
Abstracts

From time to time I make experiments with the forms or genres new, well, better - unusual for what I do. My favorite of such experiments, I repeat again and again, is a creation of abstract works. It is always a fun and a pleasure. To watch a plain and bold surface transforming into something new and unique. Usually I end up with something really bright and visually attractive, easy to live with. Maybe because of this abstracts are sold best of all.

Or because with the size of 30 plus inches a side they fit very well for interiors :-)

Anyway. I've got now two latest versions of Abstract Composition No. 15 in my portfolio

Enjoy

I am sorry but those are not abstract...the close-ups are good though.

Communication Level? Low

Hey the community,

I'm for just a very short time on ArtSlant, but I see that the level of communication here is very low. And the level of interactive communication is absent at all. I realize that artists are very selfish - judge looking at myself :-) - and fairly closed. And that writing is so time consuming. And that it's not  easy to find word addressing to unfamiliar person even if you want to express some support or comment. Lots of reasons...

From the other hand it seems like some level of constant and easy communication will not harm the community and might be a good addition to existing Buzz and Forums plarform.

What am I talking about? Using Twitter to establish a communicaion channel by adding each other (with ArtSlant as a password) and forming the base for active contacts.

Why bother? I'm sure that it at least is gonna be a good way to promote fellow artists, which especially important for those who just started.  This might also be a platform to briefly exchange the  ideas of possible mutual projects. Lots of things...

OK, why can not we start with the following. If someone is reading this and find interesting, just find me on Twitter (link below), remember to use the password ArtSlant, and give the link to what you want to be retweeted. We may start with it and go further...

Hi Sergey....This thing about Artslant forums not being active goes on for months and months until something happens. We had a 'happening' a couple of months back and that was a lot of fun. But since then it died. As for twitter, facebook etc...I don't do that stuff. Actually my perspective is that it is those social networking systems that have just about killed any activity on platforms like Artslant. I feel that its a great pity this because I find Artslant so 'with it' as an artistic community website. I also wrote a blog about how social netwroks have over time brainwashed people into 'sheeple'. Adrian

In New Technique

First of all - new for me, of course :-)
Two works in a daguerreotype technique,  it makes vintage peaceful and lazy even the very crowded spots.
Shots are taken in Barcelona's busiest places - La Pambla and Placa Cataluniya
