On June 1, 2009, San Francisco’s Outer Richmond and Sea Cliff neighborhood welcomes ArtClubSF to Clement Street at 30th Avenue, an innovative art gallery slash art workshop and event space. ArtClubSF is for art lovers, artists, art instructors, and students ages 11 and up. The ArtClub offers an ongoing calendar of unique art workshops by talented local artists for anyone willing to seek and discover their inner creativity.
The large gallery runs along the perimeter displaying fresh artwork on over 300 feet of linear wall space. During open hours, guests may browse through the monthly show featuring paintings, mixed media, and sculpture by faculty artists and outstanding works by ArtClub students.
Workshops are held in the vast center space of the gallery and in the more cozy mirrored room upstairs. Worktables, easels and storage trunks, all with lockable wheels, make for mobile classroom layouts that can be customized for workshops, gallery installations, performances and events.
ArtClubSF Director, Ray Lobato says, “Art is a reflection of ourselves and our diverse society. Everyone has something creative inside, so anyone can do and understand art. Our mission at the ArtClub is to offer a fun and dynamic art venue for people to liberate their creativity and discover that art is an expression of who they are.”
