The Speerstra Gallery opened in 2001 it's first Gallery dedicated to American and European Post Graffiti art in Paris. In 2007 the gallery definitely moves to Bursins in Switzerland and opened it's second Swiss art space in october 2008 in the historic center of Geneva.
The Gallery presents artists from the American Graffiti movement from the early 80's such as Crash, Daze, Jonone or Sharp, French and Swiss old school Graffiti artists : Rcf1, Honet, Alëxone, Mist, Dare, Als and Adp crew, and contemporary artists such as Thomas Fiebig, Henry Chalfant,, Richard Di Rosa and Hervé Di Rosa.
"Immersed at 11 into Graffiti Art and gazing at writers from the New York City old School period (1975-1985) , Willem has never changed direction, and acts for the promotion of his icons. While outsides to this underground mouvement couldn’t imagine it possible to intruduce graffiti art in a permanent space facing at first the Picasso Museum in Paris and today the Geneva lake in Switzerland. Speerstra succeeds by raising tags and letters to the noble raw art, in a formal context."
