DESCRIPTION

Spring 2009 - Spring 2013

 What is/was The Walking Gallery

Following in the tradition of experimental exhibition spaces, The Walking Gallery operated as a platform for both emerging and established artists to create, experiment, and share in an environment void of four walls. The Walking Gallery, founded by artists Kate Thomas and Chris Alday, launched it’s inaugural exhibition entitled, TEST RUN, in 2009 and has since become a familiar presence within the Pomona Arts Colony. Participation in The Walking Gallery was free and open to artists of all mediums, the only requirement being that the artist must be able to carry their own artwork for the duration of the event. Past shows have included works from painters, animators, illustrators, graphic designers, ceramicists, sculptors, quilters, photographers, performance artists and musicians. Many participating artists have since graduated from or continued to experiment  at Chaffey College, CSUSB, UCR, MCAD, CalArts, PNCA and Art Center. - The Walking Gallery in not affiliated with TWG: The Walking Gallery.

Thank you everyone who was a part of this project!
