Greene Contemporary opened in March 2006 in Sarasota, Florida. Greene Contemporary moved to 9 Clinton St. on the Lower East Side of New York City in September 2008,. In August 2009, Greene Contemporary closed its physical space.
Understanding that the landscape of the art world has changed dramatically over the past 5 years, Greene Contemporary seeks to uncover a new gallery model with a specialized focus on un(der)represented artists that exists virtually, at least for the time being.
