One month after closing the venerable Campbell-Thiebaud Gallery in San Francisco—his partnership from 1990 through 2001—Paul LeBaron Thiebaud opened his eponymous business, Paul Thiebaud Gallery, in the same neighborhood.  The gallery is located at 645 Chestnut Street, and soon grew to include another location, the top floor of a pre-war brownstone at 42 East 76th Street, off of Madison Avenue in the Upper East Side area of New York.  Both sites present six eight-week shows per year with full-time public hours.

Exhibiting artists at all stages of their careers from emerging to established, we present not only painting and works on paper rooted in the Bay Area figurative tradition, but also works of art by artists across the country that generally emphasize a high quality of technical ability and a true understanding of and faithfulness to the medium.  Additionally, the gallery offers shows of modern masters such as Giorgio Morandi and Willem de Kooning on a regular basis.  The Paul Thiebaud Gallery also proudly serves as the primary dealer for the renowned California painter, Wayne Thiebaud.

The Paul Thiebaud NY Gallery was closed in Fall of 2011.
