Winter in Santa Fe is a perfect time for quiet contemplation and soulful introspection. While the landscapes and streets may be bleak, the kivas glow warm, and the intimate and personal come to the fore. Such a season invites a corresponding humanity in art as well, and seems an ideal time to showcase the figurative talents of our artists and friends. Though many of our artists have their roots in figurative work, they may be better known for other subjects. It may even come as a surprise to some collectors just how accomplished they are in this challenging field. Such was the response of many to Roseta Santiago’s figurative show here in Santa Fe in August of 2009. And as it seems that the Santa Fe art venues tend to overlook such figurative work, we have invited some talented artists to join us for this show, hoping to showcase this compelling genre at this communal time of year.
Approximate number of pieces in the show: 30-35
Price range: $375.00 to $15,000.00
Please note: all artists, other than Joan Potter, have websites with contact info/bios/resumes.
