SLATE GALLERY PRESENTS VIBRANT WINTER EXHIBITION WITH THE COLOR SHOW: NEW WORK BY NINE BAY AREA ARTISTS
(Oakland, CA) Curators Alice Lehrer and Danielle Fox of Oakland’s SLATE gallery have selected an exciting range of contemporary art styles for their December group show, breaking down barriers between traditional genres to create a multi-faceted, fun, and festive, but cohesive exhibition.
The show features abstract and figurative painting, ink drawing, monochromatic works, digital printmaking, poured acrylics, and narrative photography–all held together by a common interest in color, texture, and line.
Lehrer loves how “despite their differences, these works relate to one another, communicating about what they have in common. Seeing them together brings out qualities that we might not have noticed looking at them on their own.“
The exhibition presents large works by more established artists including Carol Lefkowitz and Cheryl Rabin, but also includes many small works by emerging artists with prices between $75 and $600.
The opening will be held December 4, 6–9PM and will run through December 19th.
