> DESCRIPTION

Bianca Kolonusz-Partee creates dynamic two dimensional models of American shipping ports. She intricately layers recycled packaging materials exploiting their colorful, rich design to raise awareness of our natural world. Her beautifully intricate landscapes shine a light on contemporary industry and underlying larger societal issues.

Bianca Kolonusz-Partee explores industrial landscapes within the setting of the natural world. By observing the subtleties that exist where nature and industry meet and through an obsessive examination of details, she challenges what she thinks she knows. Bianca's work is buoyant as it sprawls across the walls in bursts of color, and the dense re-worked surfaces reveal her delight even when challenged by the difficulty of trying to comprehend what she does not understand. By immersing herself in these industrial landscapes, Bianca discovered birds, water and land reclaim their sovereignty. The over-powering strength of natural features is not what she expected to find.

Bianca creates monumental landscapes through which the viewer moves. Re-using product packaging, Bianca attempts to connect with the viewer and to utilize the high design and marketing of our fast- paced culture thus providing the viewer a moment of his own. She hopes this simulation will allow the viewer to have his own experience of the contemporary world.
