Take the “Habeas Index”!

The Habeas Index is a project specially designed by Linda Pollack for the art space at 7+FIG. As part of the project, Pollack will administer a survey to all interested visitors of the Lounge. The will examine our daily habits, from our commute to what we eat. The information will be aggregated into a composite that will reveal us.

In the Lounge, Pollack will hold regularly scheduled events and presentations about different aspects of living in Los Angeles. Look for the schedule of events on The Habeas Index menu  board and on-line at www.HabeasIndex.org.

Linda Pollack is an artist interested in creating a social civic space to bolster community. The Lounge has been specially designed by Los Angeles architect Mark Gee to support social gatherings and exchange. Prior to the 7+FIG Art Space, Pollack’s lounge was installed at the 18th Street Art Center in Santa Monica. In October the Lounge will travel to New York City, where  it will be exhibited in the art gallery of the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY).

Pollack’s interest in civic culture took root in Europe, where she studied art and worked for a cultural foundation following the collapse of the Berlin Wall. Whether in Europe or Los Angeles, she is keenly interested in creating environments which bolster community engagement.

Linda is looking forward to your visit!
