> DESCRIPTION
Eighteen-thirty is proud to present Civic Statues Unfrozen for One Hour: Clothed Women and Unarmed Men, a night of new and thought-provoking short videos curated by Freewaves Director Anne Bray. Taking place on the eighteen-thirty rooftop, this two-channel screening will feature local and international artists ranging from India, Kazakhstan, France and Dubai. With low ambient musical sound tracks, these videos serve to investigate artists' activities within the streets of their respective countries.

From quiet inquiries to over-the-top intensities, these works look at our communal activities from numerous angles, beholding the public conditions surrounding us: living sculpture, swapping semiotics, historical roots, dog catching, working simultaneously on desktop and in Dubai, subway reveries, surveillance overkill, slo mo martyrdom, digital graffiti, and border guarding.
