Latham Square Associates & Pro Arts presents

The Quarterly at Latham Square:
Debra Bibel

December 5, 2008 - April 15, 2009

Debra Bibel's background in science and Zen Buddhist practices feeds directly into her precise and colorful geometric creations. The abstract paintings simultaneously convey an adherence to rules set by the artist as well as a sense of fun

An Oakland based artist, Debra Bibel has been painting for over 35 years now whilst maintaining a career within the scientific field.

The exhibition was curated and organized by Pro Arts' InSite Exhibition Services. Pro Arts is a nonprofit an artist-based membership organization that supports the diverse cultural communities in the East Bay by exhibiting artists' work and providing a venue for furthering communication in the arts. Last year Pro Arts exhibited 580 artists, presented 15 major exhibitions and produced 53 events in its gallery. Pro Arts events draw an annual audience of 65,000. Pro Arts is located at 550 Second Street in Oakland's Jack London Square. www.proartsgallery.org
