Impossible: Take a moment is an exhibition of mixed media works by New York based artist Jazz-minh Moore. Resin coated portraits embedded within a series of panels, represent the concept of trying to juggle, understand and innovate our constantly interruptive, face-paced, and often insincere, urban culture. Flat color panels and snippets of e-mails, excavated from personal correspondence as well as spam, act as cohesive models of our lives. Moore employs the text as a nod to intellectualism. Ironically, she also strives to reveal the inadequacy of language as a conveyer of unprocessed emotion. She re-appropriates and aestheticizes the text, transforming it into texture and nullifying the original content—signaling an endgame of language as communication.
