"Its just Fashion Baby, Get over It!"

For this show Interchange Gallery OccupiesAndrew Jose Hair salon for London Fashion Week

Aesthetic appreciation can be narrowed down to a combinationof sensation, knowledge and emotion. Art can rely heavily on knowledge for it to be appreciatiated.

Fashion on the other hand is rarely questioned for explanation, whimsical and fleeting, fashion is allowed to be just that. We put together outfits based on their aesthetic merits, the sensation they create and the emotion they stir. Knowledge is the furthest thought.

A hedonistic mix of the familiar and the novel ‘Its just fashion baby get over it!’ is a collection of works styled together, like in fashion, taken merely on their aesthetic value. Curator or stylist? We blur further the lines between fashion and art, so if your looking for depth don’t- Its just fashion baby, get over it!

So not to deny the individual artworks the creative intention they were created with, it’s important to say that this is not an exercise in belittling the creative process but about magnifying the end result, the very visual sensation.

“Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary.” - Cecil Beaton
