The artist collective from Space 1026 in Philadelphia, PA has
been showing small works at EGOPARK of Oakland, CA through the month of
May as a part of a group installation curated by Adam Hatch.
Featured artists will include Andrew Jeffery Wright, Alex Lukas,
Bill McRight, Crystal Stokowski, Delilah Knuckley, Mark Price, Thom
Lessner, Zac Beaver, and more. Beyond the network of artists,
musicians, designers, and friends that make up the involved creative
community, SPACE 1026 is an independently funded studio space,
printmaking workshop, recording studio, and store, as well as a gallery
for emerging artists located on the edge of Philadelphia's Chinatown.
This show will serve as an introduction to the collective who will
be returning to Oakland in June for their large scale installation at
LOBOT GALLERY. Members of SPACE 1026 who will be participating in both
events will be present at the EGO PARK closing ceremonies May 30th
2-9pm (artist reception 6-9p).
The {collective}, which just celebrated its 10th birthday, has shown
their work at the Institute of Contemporary Art, as well as
internationally in London and Milan, and recently were invited to speak
at New York's Museum of Modern Art on the topic of collaborative
printmaking.
The work of the current members, individually and as a whole, spans
all artistic mediums, from wheat-pasting to welding, screen-printing to
linoleum cut, electronics to cinematography and clothing design,
providing a unique, diverse and enlightening balance of creativity and
a buttress for collaborations.
