> DESCRIPTION

The theme Something you could wipe off, wash away, peel off is intended to inspire and encourage a broad level of creative response. Around Poetics invited a group of visual artists to create work that responds to this theme in some way, shape or form. The content and media are left open to the artists' interpretation in hopes that the work is conceptually and aesthetically diverse, drawing from as many insights and forms of creativity as possible.

The exhibition will take place on December 2nd, 2011 at The LIGHTHOUSE, a new art space and publishing studio at 947 61st. St, Oakland, CA [map]

About:

Around Poetics is a new project that was started in order to give exposure to emerging artist who’s creative vision we admire. We look forward to working with artists, writers, performers, art groups etc. who want to collaborate in forming and actualizing unorthodox methods in exhibiting art, engage with local arts communities, and foster a supportive network of creative exchange.
