> DESCRIPTION
Organized in conjunction with our larger exhibition, SPRAWL, Ryan Roa's
solo exhibition features a single, monumental sculpture. A Hummer
created-to scale-from plywood, fills our second floor Atrium gallery.
The artist created the work by observing Hummers on the street and
making impromptu sketches. Without a single precise measurement of a
real Hummer, he created this large-scale work in his studio. Living in
New Jersey, the artist frequently encounters these vehicles in our
landscape, inspiring his colossal work and its implied meanings.
