> DESCRIPTION

Donna Seager Gallery is pulling out all the stops with a summer exhibition that fills all of her 5000 square foot space.  The exhibition includes work from 35 artists and includes painting, sculpture, artist books, and jewelry.  The exhibition will run from July 1 through August 15.

The aim of the exhibition is to show as wide a scope of visual expression as possible.  The gallery is showing works in oil, steel, thread, wire, clay, cardboard, and paper.  The artists include Leslie Allen, Kay Bradner, Joe Brubaker, Michael Cutlip, Charles Eckart, Mark Erickson, Jylian Gustlin, Tim Horn, Devorah Jacoby, Kim Ford Kitz, Lisa Kokin, Nancy Legge, Claudia Marseille, Emily Payne, Stan Peterson, Troy Pillow, Helen Stanley, Inez Storer, Claudia Tarantino and Ann Weber.

On the book room walls, there will be a special installation of works by artist Charlotte Cain.  These amazingly delicate hand painted drawings on antique Jaipur paper are created with gouache, mineral and graphite pigment.  Charlotte Cain studied in India under three master miniature painters after she received a Fullbright Research Fellowship in 2005 and 2006.  There will also be artist books on display by Jody Alexander, Claire Kessler-Bradner,  Macy Chadwick,  Marie Dern, Daniel Essig, Alisa Golden, Lisa Kokin and Roberta Lavadour.  The jewelry collection is included in this exhibition and the gallery is proud to show new works of jewelry by Brooke Battles, Alexis Berger, Raissa Bump, Suzy Mac and Naoko Nojiri.

In addition, on Monday, July 18, the gallery will sponsor a field trip and luncheon with Emily Payne as we go to Oakland to view her exhibition at Gallery 555 on 12th Street, curated by the Oakland Museum of California.  The exhibition will provide a preview for our one person show for Emily in September.  Payne creates site-specific installations, sculpture, and works on paper based on delicate wire forms and the shadows they cast.  Interested parties can contact the gallery for information.
