Gallery JAC and Francesca Arcilesi Fine Art are pleased to present INFUSION: An Exhibition of New Work by Emerging and Established Artists Living and Working in New York City. Opening Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 814 Broadway, Infusion exhibits a hybrid of work articulating a new trajectory for art, evoking transcendent visceral experiences from the viewer. Infusion advocates new artistic experimentation and dialog in a visual culture.
Infusion breaks free from prevailing ideas in today’s contemporary art world by redefining what constitutes visual expression. Whether
working directly with live models in creating works of heightened and
mystical realism, as seen in Vincent Arcilesi’s work, to a more emotive
process that engages elements from the recesses of the soul, as seen in
Nola Romano’s paintings, these artists use their unique abilities in
the creation of probing works that strive to challenge conventional
Infusion includes a singularly unique group of New York City artists: Jon Allen,
Mira Alibek, Vincent Arcilesi, Alex Callender, April Dill, Tamara Erde,
Kate Goyette, Elena Machoukova, Jun'ichirö Ishida, Joshua Jenks, Franck
de Las Mercedes, Hyo Jeong Nam, Erik von Ploennies, Jeffrey Price,
Emanuele Simonelli, James Vining and Steve Zolin, some exhibiting for
the first time and brought together by two people devoted to emerging
and established local artists and their work. Accompanying Infusion there will be a brief performance art piece danced and choreographed by Lindsey Hedrick.
The curators of Infusion, John Cipriano of Gallery JAC and Francesca Arcilesi of Francesca Arcilesi Fine Art,
strive to pursue all avenues of public presentation for their artists’
work, enabling these artists to focus energy on their creative process.
A full-color catalog accompanies the exhibition. The one-night only show will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 814 Broadway, 4th Floor, between 11th & 12th Streets. For more information, contact John or Francesca.
