Liquid Spaces

Marking Time showcases the works of three San Francisco artists: Bernadette Jiyong Frank, Angela Willetts and Jeong Im Yi. Their works address experiences of one of the fundamental structures of the universe - Time. "Marking Time", here, references the artists' explorations of various dimensions of the measurement and recording of Time, including: sequences of events and the intervals between them; recording the motions of change; the continuum in which events occur in succession from the past to the present and on to the future; traces of the past found in the present; and the spatial reference frame which triggers one's perception of time and space. Each artist expresses a motion of Time in her brush strokes, repetitive process and colors.
