A One Night Art Event:
Hypnagogia
On Saturday, June 27th, Climate Theater and the Anon Gallery will host the next one-night art exhibition and musical performance event/party curated by the Climate Curatorial Collective: Hypnagogia. The evening will present a fascinating and diverse grouping of Bay Area art in all genres. We are delighted that this show will include an emphasis on sound art, and on live musical performance.
Hypnagogia defines the state between sleeping and waking: the state in which our dreams can seem more real to us than the waking world, and which, depending upon the nature of our dreams, our limbo-selves seek to flee, or to sustain. For this one evening, the labyrinthine spaces of the theater and neighboring gallery will be transformed into a surreal and fluid experience by participating artists addressing dream states and the unconscious in a variety of media, which will include: film with live accompaniment, interactive sound sculpture, sound collage, sculptural installation, video projection, drawing, photography, painting, multi-media performance, and live musical performance.
