Steve De Gr oodt is a highly esteemed artist in Los Angeles' art circles. Consistent th roughout his career is his innate ability to allow the intrinsic voice of m aterials to engage in visual dialogues. De Groodt's attraction to found mat erials and discarded objects are highlighted by a finely poetic sensibility . His non-narrative combinations and juxtapositions refer to inarticulate d eeper reaches of human existence. This most recent body of work is based on handwritten correspondence from family in rural south India. The notation of the letters written in the ancient Kannada language has inspired De Groo dt to create this new series of vibrant\, colorful\, abstract drawings\, re liefs\, and sculptures. Steve De Groodt is represented by Carl Berg Gallery in Los Angeles\, CA\, and Peter Blake Gallery in Laguna Beach\, CA.

\n< p>     Jamison Carter's work deals with issues centered on energy\, entropy \, repetition\, and form through formlessness. These latest works question materiality and force the viewer to engage in his questions thereby experie ncing the work in one's own personal space. With a series of stamps\, Carte r sculpts the surface of large sheets of tyvek with calculated placement of impressions. The patterns of the impressions fool the viewer by breaking t he flatness of the sheet. The dimensional\, molecular-like forms push the l imitations of the materials and the boundaries of the frame. His aim is to create an object that engages more than just the manipulation and definitio n of space\, but something that simulates a physical manifestation of the i nvisible space of the mind. Jamison Carter has exhibited at SpaceCraft Gall ery in San Diego\, CA\, MorYork Gallery in Highland Park\, CA\, and Ruth Ba chofner Gallery in Los Angeles\, CA\, amongst others.
