Exit Art is pleased to announce the opening of E.P.A. (E nvironmental Performance Actions)\, the first project of S.E.A\, a large-scale program dealing with current environmental concerns and t he way artists respond to them. E.P.A is a group exhibition survey ing recent performance work from around the world that addresses current en vironmental crises. The exhibition will consist of videos\, photographs\, t exts\, related ephemera and a film program documenting recent performances. For this opening project we have invited Amy Lipton\, co-curator\, and Pat ricia Watts\, co-curator and founder\, of ecoartspace\, a leading internati onal environmental arts organization\, to collaborate with Exit Art on the organization and presentation of this material.

S.E.A i s an exhibition program and archive of artworks that address social and env ironmental concerns. It will assemble artists\, activists\, scientists and scholars to address these issues through presentations of visual art\, perf ormances\, panels and lecture series. S.E.A will occupy a permanen t space in Exit Underground\, a multimedia performance\, film and exhibitio n venue underneath Exit Art’s main gallery space. The S.E.A. Archi ve will be a permanent archive of information\, images and videos that will be a searchable database for scholars and researchers.
