This is so interesting! The artist here has been painting for a few weeks in public and this exhibit allows people to see how figurative art (oil on canvas and board) is actually made.
I saw some of the works yesterday in the reception area. This is an accomplished artist who is known locally in Canada. Great use of colours! And there is a personal touch here - art expressing emotion and experience. Her paintings of a vulnearable teenager are evokative of a time that passed. This is how... [more]

Christina Ray's new show is a small and eclectic collection of the works of two artists. Ms. Ray's own interest in process and experimental work is certainly apparent -- studies and sketches sit along side completed works. Ray's Glowlab, an artist run initiative whose main points of intrest include gritty urban scenes and psychogeography, was recently relaunched and has been relocated from Brooklyn to their newer Manhattan space. Face to Face is the name given to an exhibition of self portraits with five artists who have used paint as their primary medium throughout their careers. Self portraiture has a long and storied tradition. If you are an artist and have never created one I recommend giving it a shot. Per la canonizzazione di Edith Stein(1891-1942) in religione sr.Teresa Benedetta della Croce, i Carmelitani di Palermo prepararono una mostra itinerante sulla Santa. In quell’occasione mi chiesero di dipingere qualche quadro. Per me, pittore di paesaggi, nature morte, fiori e Chassidim, era un compito arduo. "Frederick Loomis creates a double fantasy by inventing an anonymous, fictional character, Edward Mathew Taylor who in turn develops a Third Testament—a sci-fi genesis of The Coming Race of Human Computers.
