Description
Puddle Fishing for Dreams is a semiautobiographical piece about the pursuit of a goal (such as becoming a professional artist) that was created shortly after I moved to NYC and began showing my work there. The fish and other underwater creatures can be seen as opportunities available for pursuit (some good, some bad) and the balloons and sailboat can represent personal hopes and dreams, among other things. The location is intended to be non-descript (as the experience is a universal one), but has the feeling of a city park such as Central Park. This is the first in the Puddle Fishing for Dreams series of oil paintings.
