> DESCRIPTION
Sheila Elias’ retrospective “Somewhere Anywhere” is currently traveling the United States, part of this exhibition is Non–Stop at a new venue Museo Vault in Wynwood Art District, Miami. The original exhibition from this 1980’s show was based on “American Icons” the series contained calendar girls, Marilyn Monroe and the Statue of Liberty. Columbia University curated the Liberty show and used “Two French Girls” to travel from the New YorkPublic Library to the Louvre in Paris 1986 through 1987. Alex Rosenberg’s New York Gallery first exhibited these painting in 1986 and the show traveled to Danville Museum of Fine Arts Danville Virginia, Stella Polaris Gallery Los Angeles - CA, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Then in 1988 and 2006 it was shown at Otis Parsons, Los Angeles and the Bass Museum, Miami. One of the works was recently exhibited in “Painting in Southern California The 1980’s” show at the Riverside Art Museum, CA.
