> DESCRIPTION

Kavachnina Contemporary is pleased to present a solo show "Unsinkable" of an award-winning artist Artem Mirolevich. Following his success during Miami Art Basel week Kavachnina Contemporary will showcase large and medium scale works on canvas, etchings and wire sculptures produced by the artist within last 4 years.

Mirolevich is a winner of awards and juried art exhibitions worldwide. With numerous gallery shows in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Paris, Moscow, Zurich and other cities, his art has also been featured in numerous museums shows, including The New Museum, Chelsea Art Museum and Museum of Russian Art. Artem's work has been described as futuristic takes on contemporary concepts. Artem's brilliant use of line and colors creates unique visionary paintings and illustrations.

The present selection demonstrates the finest samples of his recent body of work that is equally versatile in its theme, media and proportion. Throughout his prolific career, Artem Mirolevich explored virtually every pictorial genre. The artist’s motifs range from mystical urban landscapes, sensual female portraits to elegant abstractions that take form of radiant oils, transparent watercolors and sophisticated etchings. Most recently, Artem has expanded his creative endeavors into the modern realm of video installation and wire sculpture, giving his otherwise traditional figurative oeuvre more cutting edge feel.

"My work tends to be very detailed and I like to see it as micro and macrocosmic observation into the universe of human soul." A. Mirolevich.

The highlight of the show is a monumental oil painting, in which Artem crystallizes his idea of eternity and time and space travel. The artist deliberately explores the set of universally appealing images such as that of a ship or a walking elephant invoking the notion of movement and passing of time.
